Dela Kay - www.delakay.com
Music was always a big part of the household for Dela Kay. From the first time she heard her mother playing piano in her Nashville home, she began to fall in love with music. Seeing the emotional connection a personal song could make fueled her desire to write and to be a storyteller. Her electro-pop style began to emerge through a collaboration with Grammy winning singer/songwriter and producer, Femke Weidema- a style which Femke describes as, “fun, vibey and youthful, but with a sense of longing”. The process in the studio begins with a story and a vibe even before the basic production tracks. 2019 promises to be a hallmark year for Dela Kay. She has already released her first single of the year, with “All My Love” marking her debut major label release. With more music in the works, a regional and national tour ahead, and constant engagement with her exploding fan base, Dela Kay is making her mark as one of the hottest rising stars in the industry.
Athena - www.whoisathena.com
THE DARK SIDE OF DREAM POP.
On her debut EP, Dreamland, Nashville's alt-pop alien Athena introduces listeners to a fantastical concept narrative woven through dark dance beats. Though the record tells the story of a fictional character, Dreamland, deals with very real themes: mental illness, trauma and vulnerability chief among them. Athena’s music - both sinister and delicately magnificent - deftly straddles the line between light and dark. Her sticky electro pop sensibilities call to mind Halsey or Lorde, but her flirtations with the macabre and emotional exploration are akin to Imogen Heap and Florence + the Machine. Athena is a goddess from another world that has been stranded on Earth. She’s ready to take you on a journey through her dreamland on a quest to dance with your demons.
Stasney Mav - www.stasneymav.com
Having already toured internationally as a drummer and accumulated over 60+ million streams with previous projects, Stasney Mav is the next step in Caroline Shumate's progression as a musician. This Houston-raised, Nashville-based songwriter/musician/producer uses a variety of undeniably catchy pop sounds as the background for her vulnerable lyrics, while authentically expressing her queer experience.
Hosted By: Elisabeth Beckwitt
From Lexington,MA to Nashville, TN, Elisabeth Beckwitt has battled anxiety, depression, and addiction. She’s always felt that it’s important to be open and honest about her struggles so that she can encourage others to reach out and seek the help that they might need. Elisabeth pairs her clear, powerful voice with an unapologetically supportive attitude towards her tribe and weaves them together into relatable stories with encapsulating melodies that build an intimate connection with her audience. When the Eastside's Pansexual Queen isn’t hosting Sad Girl Night you can catch her playing shows locally in Nashville and touring regionally throughout 2019 to promote her upcoming releases.
